Courses are created in CTconnect, and course content is added in WebCT.

• Login to CTconnect.

• Click Create.

• Select the term that your course will begin.

Note:  The terms marked W (winter session) take place September-Dec/Jan-April.  The terms marked S (summer session) take place between May-August.  

• Under 1. Create a Course, select the course to be created in WebCT.

• Complete the remaining course details:

• Course ID - Add a unique qualifier to the course code such as your last name or section number (e.g., epse_482_instructor).

Note: Course IDs cannot be changed once created.

• Course Title - This is the title which will show on the course listing on the WebCT home page and when you and your students login to WebCT

It can be helpful to add the course code/number to the beginning of the title to make it easier to identify the course (e.g., “EDUC 999: Teaching Basics” instead of just “Teaching Basics”).

• Course End Date - This is filled in from the SISC course data, and is the date that population of the course will stop. Ensure the end date is correct.

Note: All students, TAs and instructors with access to the WebCT course prior to the end date will retain their access until they have been manually deleted from the WebCT course (see Resetting a Course).

• Student Access - Select Yes to populate your course now. This means that registered students will have access to the WebCT course. If you are preparing the course in advance, you may prefer to withhold access until the course has started. In this case, select No to populate the course later.

• Click .

• Click Edit to go back to make any changes if necessary. Click to complete the blank course once you have confirmed that the course data is correct.
