myVista
The first screen that you will see when you login to WebCT Vista is the "myVista" page.

The myVista page is a portal to the WebCT Vista system. It provides links to your courses and offers a variety of tools to enhance working with WebCT Vista.
Things to note on the myVista page:

- A - Course list - this tool lists your WebCT Vista courses. Click on a course link to enter the course. Notification icons flag when new content has been added to a course.
- B - Mail - this tool provides a compilation of mail from all of your courses. This provides a quick look at all of your WebCT Vista mail without having to login to each course individually.
- C - Calendar - this tool provides a compilation of calendar entries from all of your courses.
- D - Action link - click the action link on any tool to use it, hide it, or change the tool settings.
- E - Channels/Color/Layout - use these options to customize your myVista page appearance and specify which tools appear.
- F - My Settings - use this link to edit your profile and personalize your WebCT Vista settings.
- G - Check Browser - before using WebCT Vista, it is a good idea to test your web browser to ensure that it is configured properly to work with WebCT Vista.

WebCT Vista Course Interface
The WebCT Vista course interface consists of several sections:

- A- Course Title - title of the course.
- B - Build/Teach/Student View Tabs - course functions are grouped under three tabs. Which tabs you have available will depend on your course "role". Designers will have access to the design functions available on the Build tab. Instructors will teach and interact with students using the Teach tab. Student View allows a designer/instructor to view the course as a demo student.
Note that a course instructor will usually have both designer and instructor roles; however there may be exceptions, such as occasions when one instructor will be teaching a course but several designers may setup the course content, etc.
- C - Course Tools - these are course tools which are added to the course by the designer, such as discussions or chat room, etc.. All tools are accessible by both the designer(s) and instructor(s). In the Student View, only the tools which are not flagged as hidden (H) are available.
- D - Designer/Instructor/My Tools - below Course Tools is a second tool section which varies depending on the current tab. The Build tab contains Designer Tools, the Teach tab contains Instructor Tools, and the Student View tab has My Tools.
- E - Course Content Home - the right side of the course interface makes up the Course Content Home. This area may contain links to content items/tools (such as learning modules, discussion topics, or chat rooms), individual content files (such as a PDF, PowerPoint or HTML file), or content folders containing additional content items. The appearance and options for this section will vary depending on which tab is currently active.
